Five long years ago I set out to attempt the re-design of the Harvest Herald web site. It would be an understatement to say that the work got seriously delayed, and for that, I would like to apologize.
I began The Harvest Herald site over twenty years ago because I not only wanted to share the wonderful truths that I was learning from the scriptures with others, but also to try and find like-minded people who felt as I did. Having come from a fundamentalist Baptist background, I was disillusioned and hurting because I could no longer square what I had been taught with what I was reading in the Bible. I decided to start over - to endeavor to know nothing, to unlearn what I had been taught, and to try to let the scriptures alone guide me. This site was birthed from the passion I gained from that new understanding. Through this site I was able to come in contact with many like minded people, some of which remain close friends to this day. Discussion flourished, message boards were created, others joined the discussion... It felt like a small community of like-minded people was coming together. But then something changed... For me, discouragement began to set in. Petty disagreements over small (but passionately held) theological differences, rude emails, warnings from some well intentioned people that I was a heretic, personal issues... It all began to take a toll as the small community that I believed was coming together began to crumble, and then vanish altogether. Although I still felt a passion to share my beliefs with others, a sense of discouragement set in... "What's the point? No one is paying attention anyway." For years, other than an occasional blog post and updates to my prophecy charts, this site has been neglected. Several attempts were made, the last being five years ago when I set out to try and redesign this site, to try to jump start whatever of this ministry remained. But then that nagging thought... "What's the point?" Now, due to recent circumstances in my life I've had to rely on my faith more than ever and consider those things that are truly important to me. The works I've posted to this site over the years aren't just theological baggage I've thrown out there because I had nothing better to do - They are truths that changed my life and ignited a fire in my soul. This site, the work I have spent nearly two decades of my life creating, IS important to me and I still believe it's important to let the world, or whoever is still out there listening, know about it. To those who have listened in the past, and to those who still may be listening, thank you. My plan moving forward is both to create new content, and to move as much material as possible from the old site into this new format. It is a daunting task and I ask for your prayers and encouragement. And to those of you out there still listening, why not drop me a message to let me know? It would be great to again hear from some like-minded people even if we have areas of disagreement. It's been a long road, and a lot of barren years, but...progress... Your Servant in Christ, David
